Chocolate Peppermint Marshmallow Clusters – An easy holiday recipe with only 3 ingredients and 10 minutes of work! With festive flavours, they are a perfect addition to your holiday baking!
Hello my friends! I can’t believe it that here we are in December and the craziness that was 2020 is almost to an end. I know I have been lacking on the new posts this year, but if you follow me on instagram you will have at least seen me sharing plenty of old favourites, local restaurants that I am enjoying, and plenty of other little things going on in my life.
That being said, I knew I had to get at least one more recipe posted this year (hopefully two but we will see!). Festive recipes have long been a favourite of mine to share with you all, and while I may not enjoy the weather this time of year, I enjoy all the goodies! So lets get right to it.
Chocolate Peppermint Marshmallow Clusters
With only three ingredients – chocolate, peppermint marshmallows, and crushed candy canes – this recipe requires little effort, and not a ton of ingredients you need to go find in the store. Best of all, it requires less than 15 minutes to put together! We’re all so busy this time of year, and I know finding the time to bake can be a challenge for some. That is why I wanted to share this EASY, FAST and DELICIOUS recipe with you! It’s honestly one of the easiest treats that I have ever made.
What kind of chocolate do I use?
One of the best parts of this recipe is that you can use the type of chocolate you like best, either milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate! I wanted a rich and luxurious taste, without being overly sweet, so I chose to use dark chocolate for mine. I would recommend using Bakers chocolate, as it melts well and then solidifies fairly quickly once you form the clusters, meaning you get to enjoy these even quicker!
What if I cant find peppermint marshmallows?
Depending where you live and the time of year, peppermint marshmallows may be tricky to find. I used a brand called Dandies, which I had ordered online from well.ca, but I also saw Kraft Jet-Puffed ones while at the grocery store here in Winnipeg the other day. Take a look online to see where you can find in your area!
In a pinch, you could always use regular mini marshmallows and just add some peppermint extract to the melted chocolate while making these.
How long do chocolate peppermint marshmallow clusters take to make?
It takes less than 15 minutes to make these holiday treats! You will spend a couple minutes melting the chocolate at intervals of 30 seconds, stirring in between. Then another minute or so mixing the melted chocolate with the marshmallows. Finally, you form clusters on a tray lined with wax paper and sprinkle with crushed candy cane. This takes only another 5 minutes or so. Then, the work is all done and all you have left to do is wait around 10 minutes for the chocolate to set and they are ready to eat!
